The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) recently issued a press release about National Bike Month. During the Month of May, Caltrans and other safety partners and agencies across the state will be observing and participating in National Bike Month. The League of American Bicyclists is recognizing Caltrans with a Silver Bicycle Friendly Business Award. This award, placed at the Caltrans Headquarters Building at 1120 N Street in Sacramento, is for being recognized, along with nearly 1,300 other bike-forward businesses across the nation, for their commitment to building a more bicycle friendly America.
California is Third Most Bicycle Friendly State
Additionally, California was also awarded the third most bicycle friendly state in the U.S. for its dedication to the promotion of cycling. In an effort to continue the progress, Caltrans District offices all over California will be working to ensure workplaces are welcoming to customers and employees who are choosing to ride bikes. Throughout the month, Caltrans will also be holding a variety of educational demonstrations and several “Bike to Work Days.”
