Caltrans’ Worker Memorial Ceremony in San Luis Obispo

On Tuesday morning, Caltrans hosted its annual Worker Memorial Ceremony. The memorial ceremony honored the 183 Caltrans employees who have been killed on the job since 1924. According to KSBY News Channel Six, the ceremony was hosted at the Caltrans District Five office in San Luis Obispo.

Officials with the California Highway Patrol attended the ceremony, as well as other community members. KSBY News also reports that eight of those employees were from District Five. Additionally, we just reported on the CHP’s recent initiative to keep work zones safe across the state. Drivers are encouraged to slow down through work zones and share the road safely with vulnerable roadside workers.
