Martinez—Highway 4 in Martinez is shut down due to a high-speed chase of a stolen vehicle. Sixteen people are injured due to the vehicle crashing into four cars.  ABC 7 News states that officials say a suspect was arrested following a high-speed chase and crash. All sixteen people were taken to the hospital. The East Bay Times claimed, “A General Motors pickup truck used for construction was reported stolen around 5:25 p.m. in Buchanan Circle in Pacheco, Herbert said. A deputy spotted the stolen vehicle at 5:28 p.m. traveling east on Highway 4 near Alhambra Avenue in Martinez.” The police laid down spikes to pop the tires of the vehicle. When the vehicle crashed, the driver ran from the scene and was eventually caught and arrested.
