On Saturday morning, a car crashed through the front of the Trader Joe’s in Goleta. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened in the Calle Real Shopping Center, sometime before 9:48 a.m. Two children and another shopper in the store were injured in the crash. At least one person suffered from major injuries and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.

The 85-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries on the scene. Although very few details have been released, initial reports indicate that the driver was trying to park when, for unknown reasons, his car traveled at a high rate of speed towards the front of the store. He did remain on the scene to cooperate with authorities. The cause of this crash is still under investigation with local law enforcement authorities.
