A driver crashed into the White Sands La Jolla Building on Olivetas Avenue and killed a sleeping man. The driver was identified as a 53-year-old man who was driving on a suspended license, he was arrested for vehicle manslaughter.  The San Diego Tribune stated the driver was in an Oldsmobile, “The Oldsmobile sedan, going west on Pearl, when its driver ran a stop sign at Olivetas, crossed the intersection and continued straight into the building instead of following the road curve.” The Oldsmobile drove into the wall and caused substantial damage in two rooms.
