Car Crashes into Tree in San Diego

On Monday, a driver fled the scene after crashing into a tree in San Diego. According to NBC San Diego Channel Seven News, the incident happened sometime around 7:15 p.m. at the corner of Clairemont Drive and East Mission Bay. For currently unknown reasons, the driver of a red Honda Civic slammed into a tree, and fled on foot across Mission Bay Golf Course.

Although very few details about the crash have been released, initial reports indicate that the car may have been stolen at the time of the wreck. There hasn’t been any word on whether or not the driver of the car has been located. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement authorities
