Job Title: Attorney

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for the resolution of client issues and complaints
  • Provide legal guidance for clients
  • Meet with clients to review potential settlement offers and assist in reaching resolution of claims
  • Ability to travel to and from firm appearances/engagements
  • Effectively negotiate settlements including all aspects of liability and damages
  • Develop strategic approach and provide leadership/direction to paralegals
  • Diligent review of court filings and related litigation notices
  • Actively manage a wide range of pre-litigation cases and litigation matters both directly and through a team
  • Perform legal research on relevant issues during the pre-litigation process throughout the course of litigation
  • Propound and respond to discovery
  • Prepare summons, complaints, and other responsive pleadings for filing with the appropriate court
  • Attend mediation, depositions, and other court appearances
  • Review and edit demands

Qualifications

  • License to practice law in California and current good standing with CA State Bar is required
  • 2-4 years of litigation experience
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and social skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Personal Injury terminology
  • Bilingual is preferred

Job Title: Paralegal

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support supervising attorney’s caseload
  • Review file and discuss with attorney facts to that particular case prior to preparing complaint
  • Order all records and bills
  • Responsible for having a firm knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and deadlines
  • Effectively manages the Attorney’s calendar
  • Drafts basic pleadings, including Judicial Council forms
  • Drafts discovery requests and responses
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and effectively works in a team environment with the supervising attorney
  • Case management to include regular client contact via email and telephone. Provides timely updates to both employers and employees and oversee the document gathering process
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal communications with clients and supervising attorney
  • Assists supervising attorney with any needed trial preparations

Qualifications

This position is full-time. We are looking for an applicant who is proactive, a fast-learner, and has a great positive attitude. Ability to work independently is required. Salary is commensurate upon experience. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Spanish-speaking skills are preferred, but not necessary.
