Job Title: Paralegal
Reports To: Supervising Attorney
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Acts as executive assistant to their supervising attorney by partnering with one attorney and by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports supervising attorney’s caseload.*
- Responsible for having a firm knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and deadlines.*
- Effectively manages the calendar.*
- Drafts basic pleadings, including Judicial Council forms.*
- Drafts discovery requests and responses.*
- Demonstrates resourcefulness and effectively works in a team environment with supervising attorney.*
- Demonstrates good verbal communication with clients and supervising attorney.*
- Assists supervising attorney with any needed trial preparations.*

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and firm-specific software Lawesome.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate of completion from an accredited paralegal program.
1-2 years of paralegal experience.
Accredited paralegal program.
Certificates and Licenses:
Licensed paralegal from an accredited paralegal program.
