Last week, a seven-year-old child was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near the intersection of East Bunny Avenue and North McClelland Street, just before 5:00 p.m. Very few details about this incident have been released, but initial reports indicate that a child was struck by a car, and the car fled the scene.

The child, a seven-year-old boy, was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center where he was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries, which included a broken leg. No information has been released on the child’s current condition. Additionally, there has been no word on whether or not the hit-and-run driver has been apprehended. This incident is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
