CHP Officer Injured in San Diego County Crash

Earlier this week, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer was injured in a crash in North San Diego County. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon on Via Rancho Parkway, near Lomas Serena Drive. The CHP officer was on his motorcycle when a car turned in front of him on Via Rancho Parkway. The officer was ejected from the motorcycle during the wreck. 

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found Officer Heightman was severely injured. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, there has been no word on his current condition or on the full extent of injuries involved. Additionally, there has been no word on whether or not the driver has been cited.
