On Saturday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore. The CHP officer was on the right-hand side of the freeway when he was struck by a gray Toyota. Initial reports confirm that the gray Toyota driver was driving recklessly, CBS Los Angeles. The CHP officer, Sgt. Steve Licon, was found pinned between two vehicles and was immediately airlifted to a local hospital.
