The California Highway Patrol (CHP) recently issued a press release about their efforts to help motorists combat dangerous distracted driving habits. Through their educational campaign and enhanced enforcement efforts, officials with the CHP hope to significantly reduce the number of distracted driving related crashes that happen in the State of California each year. As of October 1, 2019, the CHP, in partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), will be conducting their yearlong Adult Distracted Drivers campaign.

CHP’s Adult Distracted Drivers Campaign

The Adult Distracted Drivers campaign is specifically targeted at adult drivers and will include at least 100 distracted driving enforcement operations throughout the state. Additionally, there will be at least 600 traffic safety presentations to help change driving habits in adult drivers. This campaign is separate and in addition to the distracted driving campaign that is geared towards teens and young adult drivers.
