Three people were killed in a terrible car accident in Oceanside. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Monday during Holiday traffic. According to NBC San Diego News, the crash began when an Escondido man driving a 1996 Nissan sedan attempted to exit SR-76 and suddenly tried to return to the main freeway lanes. The mans’ vehicle hit the concrete barrier and landed on the right shoulder. The second driver was reported as a 65-year-old woman from National City, and she rear-ended the 1996 Nissan with her Nissan Sentra. Both of their vehicles skidded across a few lanes, and then caught fire. Consequently, one more vehicle side-swiped the Nissan Sentra and pushed it into the fast lane, however that driver was unharmed. Three people were killed in this accident; the man in the 1996 Nissan, and the couple in the second Nissan, Jose Delos Reyes Cortez, 80 and Ruth G. Cortez, 80.
