On Monday night, a vehicle hit a gas pipe in the Mission Valley area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened in the 500 block of Hotel Circle South, by the Days Inn and the Super 8 hotels, at about 10:30 p.m. For currently unknown reasons, a vehicle backed into the gas line and it ruptured. People at the Days Inn had to be evacuated due to the gas leak.

Gas was reportedly leaking in the area for approximately an hour before San Diego Gas & Electric turned it off. After hitting the gas line, the driver fled the scene. At this time, there has been no word on whether or not that driver has been located.
