On Tuesday afternoon, a one-vehicle crash took out a utility pole on Jonata Park Road. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened sometime after 4:30 p.m. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle knocked down the power pole and took out nearby power lines. First responders and utility crews rushed to the scene. The driver was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

There has been no word on why that person’s vehicle crashed into the utility pole. A portion of the roadway was closed as crews worked the scene and repaired the damaged power pole and power lines. As a result of the crash, power was knocked out in areas of Buellton and Solvang. This wreck is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
