Cyclist Injured in Lompoc

On Wednesday, a cyclist was injured in a bicycle collision in the Lompoc Valley. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened sometime before 11:00 a.m., near the intersection for Highway 1 and North H Street. The injured cyclist had to be airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of major head trauma and other injuries.

Although very few details have been released, we do know that cyclist was traveling with a private bicycle club called Navy Cycling Club. They have been traveling from San Francisco to San Diego to raise money for charity. At this time, there’s no word on the injured cyclist’s current condition or how the collision happened. Thankfully, one of the cyclists on scene was a doctor who rendered immediate lifesaving first aid.
