Cyclist Killed Near Lake Cachuma

On Friday morning, a cyclist from Lompoc was struck and killed by a car on Highway 154, near Lake Cachuma. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at around 9:00 a.m., in the eastbound lane of Highway 154. Apparently, the driver of a Toyota 4Runner was trying to pass the cyclist from behind prior to the collision.

At this time, there’s no word on whether or not any citations or charges have been made, but the California Highway Patrol (CHP) was reportedly looking into whether or not intoxication was a factor in this deadly crash. The incident is still under investigation with the CHP. The team at Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Inc. sends their deepest condolences to the cyclist’s family members, friends and loved ones.
