Driver Arrested in Escondido DUI Checkpoint

On Saturday, one person was arrested and 32 citations were issued during a DUI checkpoint in Escondido. According to ABC News Channel 10, the checkpoint was at Centre City Parkway and Decatur Way. A total of 1,236 vehicles went through the checkpoint. Of those, 835 drivers got a primary screening and 52 drivers got sent to secondary screening.

Drivers were sent to secondary screening for either being suspected of drunk driving or because they did not have a driver’s license on them. Law enforcement officers administered three field sobriety tests during the duration of the checkpoint. Many of the 32 citations issued involved driving without a license or driving on a suspended license. At least 11 vehicles were impounded during the operation.
