On Monday morning, a driver crashed into a police car in San Diego. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the wreck happened in the 5000 block of Logan Avenue in Lincoln Park. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before making a U-turn and crashing into the pursuing police cruiser. The police officer was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The driver involved in the crash then tried to flee the scene. He was swiftly apprehended and arrested. The passenger in his vehicle had to be extricated from the wreckage by the Jaws of Life. She was also transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. There has been no word on the charges associated with this arrest, but alcohol was suspected to be a factor.
