Driver Detained in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Last week, a driver was detained after a fatal pedestrian crash in San Diego. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Friday night in the Jamacha-Lomita area. Very few details about this collision have been released, but we do know that the pedestrian was struck on the 8100 block of Jamacha Road near Glencoe Drive. Initial reports indicate that the driver involved, a 21-year-old man, was headed westbound when his BMW sedan hit the pedestrian.

The driver continued driving, parked a few blocks away and then started walking. When first responders arrived on the scene, they rushed the pedestrian to the hospital. That person did not survive their injuries. The driver was then located and detained a short while later. This crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
