Drunk Driver Hits Cyclist in Carlsbad

Over the weekend, an alleged drunk driver hit and injured a cyclist in Carlsbad. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Sunday morning on Circulo Sequoia, near La Costa Canyon High School. Initial reports indicate that this was a hit-and-run crash involving a black Cadillac. The cyclist, a 65-year-old woman, was struck and left unconscious on the scene. 

When first responders arrived, she was rushed to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. With the help of a helicopter, law enforcement officers were able to locate the driver a short distance away from the crash scene. He was arrested and booked on felony hit-and-run with injuries and driving under the influence.
