Last week, a suspected drunk driver hit multiple light poles in San Diego. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened in the northbound lanes of I-5, just before the Route 163 connector. Very little information about this incident has been released, but we do know that a white Chevy Impala hit two light poles beside the roadway. Initial reports indicate that one of those light poles went into the right lane and into oncoming traffic.

At least seven vehicles crashed into the downed light pole. Thankfully, no life-threatening injuries were reported on the scene. The Impala driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. A portion of the interstate had to be closed for about an hour as crews and first responders worked the scene.
