DUI Checkpoint in San Diego

On Saturday night, law enforcement officers made six drunk driving arrests at a DUI checkpoint in San Diego. According to ABC News Channel 10, the checkpoint was in the 1400 block of G Street, in the East Village community area. The operation started at 10:55 p.m. Saturday and concluded on Sunday morning, at 3:10 a.m.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a total of 2,597 vehicles went through the DUI checkpoint. Law enforcement officers screened more than 1,000 of those drivers. Additionally, six vehicles were also impounded during the operation. Local and state law enforcement agencies routinely setup DUI checkpoints in efforts to reduce injury-causing and fatal drunk driving crashes across California.
