Over the weekend, a man was arrested in San Luis Obispo on suspicion of drunk driving after injuring four people in a car accident. According to The Tribune, two vehicles, one northbound on Santa Rosa and the other traveling eastbound on Monterey went through the intersection at the same time. The eastbound traveling vehicle had a red light. There was a total of seven people in the vehicles and four people were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The DUI driver was taken to the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
The team at Harris Personal Injury Lawyers wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured in the accident. Luckily the injuries were not severe or even fatal. If you have been involved in a car accident, there are several steps you should take to protect your health and future interests.
- Contact the local police authorities and file an auto collision report.
- Receive proper medical care for any injured persons.
- Do not leave the scene of the accident until you have gathered all of the necessary contact information from all people involved.
- Do not discuss the accident or your injuries to anyone other than the police, your doctor or your lawyer. Giving statements to insurance representatives without speaking to your auto accident lawyer first can damage your legal case.
