Two people died in a terrible car accident on the Interstate 15 and two people were confirmed to be injured. The accident was caused by a suspected DUI driver. The DUI driver is identified as Jeffrey Levi. Levi rear-ended a Toyota on I-15 near Miramar and Pomerado Road in Scripps Ranch.  His vehicle then crashed into a ditch. According to NBC San Diego, The Toyota, unable to move, stayed in the middle of the freeway lanes and an off-duty San Diego Police Department (SDPD) detective sergeant in an unmarked SUV then crashed into the Toyota. The accident occurred right after midnight, and witnesses helped free some accident victims. Levi tried to escape the accident scene, although police found him, and he is now in custody.
