E-Bike Crash in North Park

Over the weekend, there was a crash involving an electric bicycle in North Park. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the wreck happened on Lincoln Avenue, between Hamilton and Arizona Streets, on Sunday afternoon. Apparently, a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck was headed northbound in an alley between Hamilton and Arizona prior to the crash. For currently unknown reasons, the driver stopped the vehicle before crossing Lincoln Avenue.

At that time, a 64-year-old man on an electric-assisted bicycle going westbound in the eastbound lanes of Lincoln crashed into the side of the pickup truck. The bicycle rider was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries including a fractured ankle. No other injuries were reported on the scene, and the cause of this e-bike crash may still be under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
