Elderly Cyclist Injured by Hit and Run Driver

On Monday afternoon, a 93-year-old cyclist was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in Goleta. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on the 5700 block of Calle Real. Very few details about this hit-and-run crash have been released, but we do know that the elderly cyclist was knocked off his bicycle during the crash. He had to be transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The driver involved fled the scene after hitting the cyclist. The car was described as a possibly dark-colored, newer model sedan. At this time, no additional details have been released, and there have been no updates on the injured cyclist’s current condition. Anybody with information about this crash is being asked to contact the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department.
