On Wednesday night, an 84-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed in Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on the 1400 block of South Broadway at about 6:00 p.m. Very little information has been released about this collision, but initial reports indicate that the man was found in the southbound lanes with major injuries. He was transported to the hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.

No information has been released about the driver involved and whether or not that person is facing any citations or charges in connection with the fatal collision. Santa Maria Police Officers are asking anybody who witnessed the incident that has not talked to police to contact their office.
