Encinitas Hit and Run Pedestrian Crash

Earlier this week, there was a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in Encinitas. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Vulcan Avenue and D Street on Tuesday morning. Initial reports indicate that the pedestrian was struck and injured at about 11:00 a.m. Although the vehicle appeared to be on the scene, the driver reportedly fled on foot after the crash.

First responders rushed to the scene, where the pedestrian had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver was apprehended sometime later and arrested on felony hit and run charges. Law enforcement officers are looking into whether or not drugs or alcohol could have been contributing factors. Anybody with information about the crash is being asked to come forward.
