Tuesday, February 23, 2010—A serious auto accident caused major delays into Downtown San Diego early Tuesday morning. According to authorities, the traffic is expected to be backed up for hours.

California Highway Patrol estimated the crash on southbound I-5 at B Street occurred around 7:45 a.m.

The vehicle, a GMC sports utility vehicle, overturned and ended up on its roof, trapping someone inside.

One person died at the scene.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Dispatch confirms that no one else was injured in the crash.
