Alex Maier passed away on Wednesday evening, a couple days after having been in a car accident. Alex was a senior varsity soccer player for San Luis Obispo High school. After a Monday night soccer game, Alex’s F-150 truck collided with a BMW on the Morro Bay off-ramp heading southbound on the 101. Alex’s truck flipped onto its roof and continued until it ran into the guardrail. CHP stated that there were no drugs or alcohol involved and that it appears that texting didn’t play a role either.

We encourage all drivers to continuously be alert and to consider your speed when entering and leaving the freeway. Living on the Central Coast we know that on and off ramps to the freeway don’t allow much time, so please be alert as to not cause more car crashes.
