Fatal Crash Involving SUV in San Diego

Earlier this week, there was a fatal crash involving a reportedly stolen SUV in San Diego. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the wreck happened on Tuesday night at about 11:00 p.m. Apparently, law enforcement officers saw the silver 2003 Honda Pilot traveling without its headlights on at the intersection of 24th Street and Island Avenue in Sherman Heights. Earlier that day, the SUV was reported stolen in Chula Vista.

The driver ran a red light, and police officers attempted to pull the vehicle over. Although officers lost sight of the vehicle, a helicopter was able to track it. The driver lost control of the SUV, and it crashed into a pole on Market Street. Two people were ejected from the vehicle, and two others were trapped in the wreckage. Three of the four were killed in the crash, and the other was critically injured.
