Earlier this week, there was a fatal crash on State Route 76 near the La Jolla Indian Reservation. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened in the Mesa Grande area, about two miles northwest of Lake Henshaw. Very little information about this fatal crash has been released, but we do know that one person was killed in this apparent one-vehicle wreck.
Initial reports indicate that the SUV hit a tree and then left the eastbound side of the roadway. The vehicle then crashed down an embankment about 40 feet and landed on its roof. There has been no word on the cause of the crash, which is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
