Fatal Head-On Collision near Sisquoc

On Sunday morning, a woman was killed in a head-on collision near Sisquoc. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at about 9:40 a.m. on Santa Maria Mesa Road, west of Tepusquet Road. Apparently, one of the drivers lost control over her vehicle on the rain-slicked road and overcorrected. After losing control, the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck 40-year-old Karisa Bennett’s 1973 Volkswagen.

Bennett’s car was estimated to being going 20-30 miles per hour, as she was approaching a stop sign. As a result of the collision, Bennett died on the scene. At this time, there is no word on whether or not any citations have been made in this fatal head-on collision.
