Fatal Head-on Collision

On Friday morning, two people were killed in a head-on collision near Pauma Valley Country Club. According to ABC News Channel 10, the crash happened sometime before 10:30 a.m. on State Route 76, in the Rincon area. For currently unknown reasons, a 2002 Mazda Miata crossed into the westbound lane of the roadway and collided with a box truck.

The crash took the lives of two brothers from Escondido. Andrew Parks, 24 years old, and 27-year-old Alexander were killed in the collision. The driver and passenger in the box truck were both injured in the crash and taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment. At this time, the cause of the crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement authorities.
