On Tuesday morning, a man was hit and killed on State Route 94. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened in the westbound lanes, near the 30th Street exit, at about 2:00 a.m. For currently unknown reasons, the pedestrian was walking along the fast lane, when a vehicle struck him. That motorist fled the scene, and at this time, there is no description of the vehicle involved.

An abandoned vehicle was found nearby, but investigators aren’t sure if that was the car involved in the hit-and-run. California Highway Patrol officers had to shut down two westbound lanes during the investigation, and traffic was backed up for morning commuters. This fatal hit-and-run crash is still under investigation by law enforcement officials.
