Fatal I-5 Chain Reaction Crash

On Tuesday night, a fatal chair-reaction crash happened on Interstate 5, near a border patrol checkpoint in North County. According to ABC Channel 10 News, the incident happened at about 6:00 p.m. For currently unknown reasons, a driver didn’t see traffic ahead of him in the northbound lanes of I-5. His 2008 pickup truck rear-ended a stopped BMW. The BMW was pushed into a small truck and an additional sedan.

One of the passengers in the BMW, a 32-year-old Ontario man, was killed in the crash. At least two victims were air lifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. They were expected to survive, but reportedly suffered from head and neck injuries. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected as factors in this crash, which is likely still under investigation with authorities.

The team at Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Inc. sends their deepest condolences to the family members and friends of the deceased passenger, and wishes speedy and full recoveries to the injured victims.
