Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Marin County Briefly Closes Highway 101

Two lanes of traffic on the northbound side of Highway 101 were blocked on Thursday after a motorcycle accident claimed the life of one in Novato, California. CHP responded to the scene at the time of the incident, reports the Marin Independent Journal. Responders attempted life-saving measures on the motorists but to no avail. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

All lanes of Highway 101 were closed for a period after the accident. Alternate routes were offered as responders tended to the scene of the incident.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision and it is unknown what caused the single-vehicle incident. Anyone with information regarding the accident is encouraged to contact CHP Marin.
