Fatal Motorcycle Crash in San Ysidro

On Saturday, a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Interstate 5 (Golden State Freeway) near the U.S.-Mexican border in San Ysidro. According to ABC Channel 10 News, the incident happened sometime around 2:25 a.m., in the southbound lanes of the freeway, just north of the border point-of-entry. At this time, very few details have been released about this crash. There is no word on whether or not any other vehicles were involved.

We do know that the first responders, crews and officials with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) had portions of the Golden State Freeway closed for more than three hours as they investigated the scene. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
