Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Santa Barbara

On Sunday, a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision near Santa Barbara. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the crash happened on Highway 154, at about 5:45 p.m. For currently unknown reasons, 59-year-old Stephen Forrest’s Suzuki motorcycle crossed the double yellow line into westbound traffic. His bike hit a 2015 Jeep, head-on.

Although Forrest was wearing a helmet, he died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. No other injuries were reported, and Highway 154 was closed for hours as crews and first responders worked the scene. The cause of this crash is still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
