Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 101

On Sunday afternoon, a fatal motorcycle crash happened on Highway 101 in Summerland. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident occurred just before 1:00 p.m., east of Evans Avenue. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that 53-year-old Bruce Aaron Hoover of Newhall died in the crash. Although very few details have been released, witnesses on the scene said that he appeared to pass out and slump over on the motorcycle prior to drifting across the left lane.

The motorcycle struck the center divider, and Hoover was ejected from the vehicle. First responders were swiftly on the scene, and the left lane of the freeway was closed for over two hours. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation, but drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors at this time.

The team at Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Inc. sends Hoover’s family members and friends their deepest condolences.
