Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo

Earlier this month, a pedestrian was hit and killed along Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo, California. CHP responded to the scene.

According to reports, a pedestrian was running across all northbound lanes on Highway 101 when struck by a vehicle in the fast lane. There was heavy fog in the area during the morning of the incident. A Sig Alert was placed due to dense fog in the area.

Additionally, CHP reported a call that same morning just prior reporting a semi-truck and a work truck parked in the lanes on the highway. The called said there was debris scattered all over the road and traffic was backed up. It was in this area the pedestrian was seen laying across two lanes of traffic.

Traffic was closed in all northbound lanes on the highway just south of Los Osos Valley Road. CHP also closed the lanes at the Prado Road off-ramp.
