According to NBC News, Deputies started to chase a reportedly stolen Honda Accord with three people inside after spotting the vehicle in North County sometime after midnight. The pursuit began on Valley Center Road and Police had stopped due to the unsafe speeds, weather, and driving conditions. However, a helicopter followed the Honda from above. The Honda crashed head-on into oncoming traffic. The driver and passenger in the stolen Honda were confirmed dead at the scene. The third passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The other driver was taken to Palomar Medical Center and is injured as well.
