Fatal Wrong-Way Crash in Long Beach

Over the weekend, there was a fatal wrong-way crash in Long Beach. According to ABC News Channel Seven, the wreck happened on the 405 Freeway at about 3:45 a.m. on Saturday. Apparently, a Nissan Altima was headed northbound in the southbound lanes. That vehicle hit a Toyota head-on and caused a pileup with several other vehicles. The drivers in both vehicles in the initial crash died on the scene.

According to people on the scene, there was poor visibility and heavy fog in the area at the time of the crash, and that may have factored in to the wreck. It’s also possible that speed was a factor in this fatal crash. The CHP hasn’t yet released whether or not drugs or alcohol may have been involved, and this wreck is likely still under investigation.
