Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on 110 Freeway

Over the weekend, there was a fatal wrong-way crash on the 110 Freeway in the Harbor Gateway area. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the wreck happened early Saturday morning, at about 4:12 a.m. Initial reports indicate that there was a wrong-way driver in the El Segundo area. When first responders arrived on the scene, there was an overturned vehicle and a second vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The wreckage was on the overpass near the 182nd Street onramp, about four to five miles away from where they got the initial call.

At least two people were reported dead in the crash, and there’s been no word on whether or not anybody else was injured. Officers were on the scene until about 9:15 a.m. At the time of the report, it was unclear which vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction. This crash is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
