Fiery Fatal Head-On Collision in Madera County Kills One

A man in Madera County was killed when a vehicle crossed into traffic traveling the opposite direction on Highway 145 north of Aveune 9 1/2 causing a head-on collision. One vehicle involved caught fire injuring an additional four people involved.

CHP responded to the scene. It is reported that one car with a driver and two passengers traveling north was hit and spun clockwise before coming to rest on the shoulder. The vehicle causing the collision was traveling southbound in northbound lanes. Upon colliding with the first car, the offending vehicle went off the road and bust into flames. The man killed was a passenger in the northbound car that was hit.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be a factor in the crash. Investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the CHP at 559-675-1025.
