Fire on Charter Bus from San Diego

On Thursday night, a charter bus with 27 passengers caught fire on Interstate 5, near La Jolla. According to NBC San Diego Seven News, riders reportedly smelled fumes as soon as the bus departed for the trip. The bus was headed from the San Diego Greyhound Station to Los Angeles. A passerby noticed that the bus was on fire and honked and waved to the bus driver until he pulled over.

Thankfully, everybody was off the bus before the flames engulfed the vehicle, but there was some concern about the inhalation of fumes. The passengers waited on the side of I-5 until additional transportation became available. At this time, there’s no word on what caused the fire, and the incident is still under investigation with authorities.
