Five-Car Pile-Up on Highway 101

On Monday morning, there was a five-car pile-up crash near Atascadero. According to KSBY News Channel Six, the incident happened in the southbound lanes of Highway 101, near the Santa Rosa Road off-ramp, at about 7:50 a.m. Very few details about this multi-vehicle crash have been released, but we do know that traffic was backed up and there were delays in the area for rush-hour commuters.

At this time, there has been no word on whether or not anybody was injured in the crash. Additionally, no information has been released on what caused this pile-up crash, which is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol. Thankfully, Caltrans reported that lanes were reopened as quickly as about 8:20 a.m.
