Food Bank Truck Flipped Over Near Vandenberg AFB
Last week, a Foodbank of Santa Barbara County truck flipped over near Vandenberg Air Force Base. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened last Monday morning as it was on its way to Lompoc. Very little information has been released about this truck crash, but we do know that the truck was making a left turn at an intersection when it flipped onto its right side. Thankfully, no major injuries were reported on the scene, but the truck did hit a light pole.
The driver and passenger in the truck were National Guard troops assisting the Foodbank. Initial reports indicate that the truck wasn’t exceeding speed limits at the time of the crash, and that the cargo was below load capacity. Unfortunately, the wreck resulted in the loss of approximately 4,600 pounds of food. This truck crash may still be under investigation with local authorities.
