Four Injured When Car Crashes Into 7-Eleven Convenience Store

A car crash near Montgomery Field injured four people on Monday, September 23rd. Just after 9:30 a.m., a Nissan sedan crashed through the front of a convenience store. The crash happened at the 7-Eleven on Sandrock Road and Hurlbut Street. The driver of the Nissan told authorities that her breaks failed. Fox Five News reports that a toddler was among the victims injured in this crash. The 2 ½ year-old toddler was in a stroller when the car plowed into the store.

First responders took the convenience store employee, two customers and the toddler to hospitals for treatment. Fox Five News described their injuries as moderately serious. According to Detective Gary Hassen, with the San Diego Police Department, the crash trapped the employee against a refrigerator. Detective Hassen said that the 52-year-old driver wasn’t likely to face any significant charges.
