A woman from Gilroy died in a terrible accident on Interstate 680 in San Jose. The woman was a passenger in a box truck and when it veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree it burst into flames causing her death. According to The Mercury News, The 54-year-old Gilroy man driving the truck was able to get out of the wreck, and responding CHP officers helped his four passengers get out before the truck was overtaken by flames. The woman was immediately taken to the hospital, however, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving. There were two other passengers who were badly injured and hospitalized.
